Pullman Melbourne on the Park’s Cliveden Bar and Dining has been awarded the 2022 Hotel Bar of the Year at the Victorian Accommodation Awards for Excellence.

Presented by Tourism Accommodation Australia (Victoria), the awards recognise the work hoteliers and their teams have undertaken to reimagine their product and service offers, even when continuing to face challenging trading conditions.

General Manager for Pullman Melbourne on the Park, Erkin Aytekin, says that the award recognises the exceptional guest experience the hotel continues to deliver.

“The Cliveden Bar and Dining is the perfect spot for post-work catch-ups, a drink before the football, an intimate dinner, or a larger gathering, and we’re thrilled to have been recognised for the world-class service and experience we offer our guests,” says Mr Aytekin

The judging process for the awards was undertaken by a third-party anonymous assessment organisation that is independent of TAA (Vic)/AA, and took into account the overall venue experience, the level of service, and ambience.

The awards were presented to a gathering of 850 hoteliers, industry suppliers and broader Victorian hospitality and tourism sector industry stakeholders.

The Pullman Melbourne on the Park revealed a spectacular $40million renovation in April 2022 following an earlier transformation of the ground floor lobby, reception, and Cliveden Bar and Dining areas of the hotel.

The new design was influenced by the hotel’s iconic location at the edge of Melbourne’s famous Fitzroy Gardens and a short stroll from the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

The renovation included 19 floors of completely upgraded Superior, Premium and Deluxe rooms and suites as well as a new Executive Lounge and William Clarke Sky Villa, as well as earlier investment to the ground floor lobby, reception, and Cliveden Bar and Dining areas of the hotel.

Positioning the Pullman Melbourne on the Park as one of Melbourne’s premium hotels, the Cliveden Bar and Dining offers an all-day dining menu featuring the best local Victorian produce meet traditional European preparations and Australian native ingredients. Offering a wide selection of cocktails, The Cliveden even has its own bespoke gin. Developed in in collaboration with Bass & Flinders Distillery, this flavourful, unique gin features botanicals such as rosemary, oregano and bitter almond, as well as native botanicals such as lemon myrtle. 

Pullman Melbourne on the Park is located at 192 Wellington Parade in East Melbourne, opposite the MCG, Rod Laver Arena and Melbourne Park precinct. It is a popular destination and the ‘Home of Sports’ to host teams and spectators attending AFL, NRL, Cricket and the Australian Open tennis
